New integrations in Ardubridge

Since October you can now send data from your weather station to Awekas, PWSweather and WeatherCloud via Ardubridge for free. These sites are integrated and tested in addition to the previous ones already integrated.

You can now share the weather parameters of your weather station with these 3 sites, adding an incredible audience of hundreds of thousands of daily users.

Remember that Ardubridge works both with DIY stations (arduino, nodemcu, raspberry…), and with commercial weather stations like the ones you can find on Amazon or other websites, I’m talking about Sainlogic, Froggit, Bresser, Davis, etc. as long as they allow you to send data to a custom url/server.

Types of Weather Stations: do it yourself, personal and profesional

If you are thinking about getting a weather station, you should be aware of the main types of weather stations that currently exist in relation to the level of professionalism and customisation, of course the following categories refer to stations within the automatic type.

We could say that these are the current types of weather stations: do it yourself, personal (or domestic), and professional.

Hello World Ardubridge

Hello, my name is Enrique and I live in the Valencia area (Spain).

About 4 years ago I started windsurfing, then I saw the need to check the weather conditions every time I was going to practice the sport.

The situation of having unfavourable conditions (usually little wind) was repeated many times, as well as the favourable forecast of ideal wind to practice windsurfing suitable for my beginner level, but it was not always fulfilled.

So I decided to look for local weather stations or those close to the practice area to check the current wind conditions a few hours before starting a session.

I found some online stations promoted by the town councils of the different towns, but little online data from the many weather stations that are marketed on the Internet for individuals, nor data from the stations of the nearby marinas.

So, I decided to set up my home weather station and start sharing data with some of the more popular websites.

After this, I thought it would be a good idea to provide a platform for anyone without technical knowledge to share their weather data either from a home station or from a station bought on Amazon, with everyone.

Without having launched anything, I mentioned the idea to Vaclav Hornik (owner of Windguru), he responded very kindly saying that it was a good idea and to keep him informed. It was a great motivation to go ahead with the project after his reply and I am grateful to him.

Ardubridge is now fully operational and constantly evolving, you can currently share your station data with: Windguru, Wunderground, Windy, PWSweather, Weathercloud and Awekas, as well as having your own custom page.
